What exactly is KlasKamer?

KlasKamer is a planning assistant for South African teachers. You choose a grade, subject and topic, and it drafts a full lesson plan, study guide, worksheet or ATP-style assessment with a memorandum — in English or Afrikaans — in under a minute. Everything you generate is saved to your account so you can reuse or adapt it later.

Who is it for?

Does it replace my professional judgement?

No. KlasKamer produces a strong first draft that follows the structure moderators expect. You remain the teacher: review, adapt to your learners, and check facts before using anything in class or for formal assessment.

How is the content CAPS-aligned?

Every document is generated against a CAPS-shaped template: topic and phase, learning outcomes and aims, prior knowledge, teaching activities, learner activities, resources, differentiation, assessment and homework. The prompts reference the relevant phase, subject and grade so the language and depth match the curriculum level.

Is KlasKamer endorsed by the DBE?

No. KlasKamer is an independent tool built by educators for educators. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official product of the Department of Basic Education. Always check output against the current official CAPS and ATP documents for your subject.

Does it follow the ATP pacing?

Accepted Answer

Assessments and plans are structured to fit the usual term/ATP flow, and you can specify the term, week or ATP topic when generating. Because ATPs are revised from time to time, confirm dates and weighting against your school's current ATP.

What is a credit?

One credit produces one complete document — including any illustrations generated for it. Regenerating a document, or converting a lesson plan into a study guide or worksheet, is a new document and uses one credit.

Do credits expire?

Credits you buy in a R29.99 top-up never expire. Monthly plan credits are an allowance: they refill to your plan maximum each billing month rather than stacking up. Plan credits are always spent first, so your purchased credits stay safe.

What happens if a generation fails?

The credit is refunded automatically. Credits are only ever consumed once per successful document, and failures on any step (text, illustrations or saving) trigger an automatic refund to your balance.

How many credits do I get?

New accounts get 3 free credits. Premium Basic (R79.99/month) refills to 10 credits every month, and Premium Pro (R149.99/month) refills to 25 credits every month. You can add 5 extra credits for R29.99 at any time.

Watermark-free documents, Word/PDF/Markdown export, unlimited saving to your library, and AI credits that refill every month — 10 a month on Basic, 25 a month on Pro. Pro also gets the priority generation queue.

Basic or Pro — which should I choose?

Basic (R79.99/month, 10 credits a month) suits a teacher planning one or two subjects. Pro (R149.99/month, 25 credits a month) suits multi-subject teachers and HODs who build full packs — plan, study guide, worksheet and assessment — every month. Annual billing saves roughly two months on either plan, and you can cancel any time.

Can I use Premium on more than one device?

Yes. Premium is tied to your account, not a device. Sign in on your laptop at school and your phone at home — your library follows you.

Can I get a refund?

Yes — see our refund policy for the full terms and the window that applies. Purchases are processed by our payment provider as merchant of record, so refunds are issued back to the original payment method.

What happens to my access after a refund?

Refunding a Premium purchase revokes Premium status and any credits granted by that purchase. Documents you already exported stay yours.

Prices are in South African Rand (ZAR). Card payments are handled securely by our payment provider — KlasKamer never sees or stores your card details.

Is my data protected under POPIA?

Yes. We collect the minimum needed to run your account, we don't sell your data, and you can request deletion at any time. The full detail is in our privacy policy.

Can other teachers see my documents?

No. Your library, drafts and uploaded resources are private to your account and enforced at the database level.

Is learner information stored?

Accepted Answer

Only if you choose to add it (for example in the markbook). Please avoid putting unnecessary learner personal information into prompts — a first name or a class code is enough.

What devices are supported?

Any modern browser on Windows, macOS, Chromebook, Android or iOS. KlasKamer is installable as an app: on Android/desktop Chrome use 'Install app', and on iPhone use Share → Add to Home Screen.

Does it work on low data or a slow connection?

Accepted Answer

Generation needs a connection, but pages are light and documents you export (PDF/Word) are yours to use offline and print at school.

Can I print directly?

Yes. Every document has a clean print layout for classroom use, moderation files and portfolios.

Can I upload my own material?

Yes. Upload your school's notes, past papers or worksheets and KlasKamer uses them as context, so generated documents sound like your school's material and follow your sequencing.

Who can see my uploads?

Accepted Answer

Only you. Uploaded files are stored in private storage scoped to your account and are never shared with other users.

Can I delete an uploaded resource?

Accepted Answer

Yes, at any time from your resources list. Deleting removes the file from storage as well.
